Book Reviews of Stone Fox

Book Review: Stone Fox
Summary: 5 Stars

I would rate the book Stone Fox 5 stars because it's sad, exciting, and it's a book you can't put down! It's about a ten year old boy named Little Willy who lives on a farm with his Grandfather and his dog named Searchlight. When his Grandfather gets sick Little Willy has to run the farm with the help of his dog. When a tax man comes to the farm one day he tells Little Willy that Grandfather hasn't been paying his taxes he needs to pay $500.00. If they don't get $500.00 soon they will take the farm away. Now how is Little Willy going to get $500.00.Little Willy sees an ad that the dog sled races are coming to town. The prize money just happens to be $500.00.They say an Indian named Stone Fox is in it.They also say he never lost a race. Read the book to see if Little Willy enters the race and wins!

Book Review: A Good Book
Summary: 5 Stars

Stone Fox is a great book! It is kind of funny, but kind of depressing. My favorite part is when Dusty, the town drunk said "Was Denver, Stone Fox snapped a mans backwith 2 fingers. The book is much different than the movie. Though they're both good. The book took place in Jackson, Wyoming. Well, it's about a little boy that lives with his grandfather and they own a farm. So litte Willy (the little boy) had to pay taxes for the farm. So he entered the dog sled race and little Willy had to keep up the farm. So when Clifford Snyder the tax man came, Willy didn't know about taxes. But if he didn't pay, the farm would be gone. So he entered the dog sled race with his dog, Searchlight. They tried to win the race against the greatest competitor, the Native American, Stone Fox.

Book Review: A five star not too long read
Summary: 5 Stars

Stone Fox is a great book for all elementary students. It is about a ten year old boy (named little Willy) and his dog Searchlight. His grandpa is keeping a secret from him which is the cause of grandpa being sick. When little Willy finds out what the secret is he learns that he must get 500$ and fast. What luck, there just so happens to be a dog sled race going on and the prize money is 500$! When he enters he knows he must win and if he doesn't grandpa won't get better and their farm will be taken away from them. Little Willy feels very confident in himself, but the great Stone Fox is coming. He has never lost a race. Does he beat the great Stone Fox? Does grandpa get better? Do they keep their farm? Use my advice and read the book to find out.

Book Review: great book about life and death
Summary: 5 Stars

Stone Fox is more than an action packed adventure story, it is a story about a pre-adolescent boy trying to cope with and superceed lifes struggles. My seven year old read this story in one day, he was so eager to find out what happens. I too enjoyed it as a good read. Stone Fox teaches us the importance of caring for one another, the strong friendship that exists between children and their dog, and the importance of perseverance in life, and to not give up!! It is an easy read and so well written, your child may not even realize the lessons the book has to teach them in the process. As a parent I would recommend that you read the book as well so you are able to discuss the ending with your child, and focus on the positive side of the ending.
