But then little Willy got worried. So he went to see Doc Smith. The town nurse. She also thought that he was just playing with him. She asked if went to bed late that night. Book Review: Book Review On Stone Fox
Summary: 5 Stars

Stone Fox is a really good book. I would recommend it to anyone. Stone Fox is about a ten year old boy named Little Willy and his grandfather. They live on a potatoe farm with their dog named Searchlight. One day Little Willy's grandfather gets sick. Willy finds out that his grandfather is sick because they owe $500 in taxes. One day Little Willy goes to the store and sees a poster that says that they are going to have a dog sled race, and the prize money is just what they need, $500.

The theme or message in this book is that you should always believe in yourself, no matter what people say. And just because you are a child, doesn't mean you can't do great things. It teaches you not to listen to putdowns, and to always believe in yourself. No matter what.

My opinion of this book is that I really liked it. It is a very good book. I liked it a lot because it teaches kids to have confidence. Even if others don't believe in you. I also liked it because it was very fun and exciting. Once you pick it up, you can't put it down. I would recommend this book to anyone.

Book Review: The Dog Race
Summary: 5 Stars

The Dog Race

Boom the pistol shot up and the race had begun.

Stone Fox is an 81 paged book. Imagine you're self in Wyoming in a dog sled race going against someone you know but doesn't talk to you, and hurts you. It's about a little boy named Little Willy and his dog named Search Light. Search Light is ten years old and Little Willy is ten too. He has no brothers or sisters and lives with his grandfather. They live on a potato farm, and grows potato's every summer. Little Willy wants to save his grandpas farm so he enters a dog sled race to try and win money.

My favorite part is when the race had begun because I like races and I thought that was the best chapter because it was the most interesting chapter in the book.

I think the Authors purpose was to encourage kids to race and do there best.

I think this book is good for young readers .It's also good for kids who love dog's and like to read about dog sled racing. I think kids should read Stone Fox!!!

Book Review: Stone Fox
Summary: 5 Stars

Most people believe that short stories are not the best stories in the world, but rather the long novels are. But this book has virtually disproved that saying. I am a 12 year old reader, and I love long novels about mysteries and romances. I am not one for stories with themes or morals. But this is one book that has totally changed that for me. My third grade teacher read Stone Fox to me, and at the end, my whole class was crying. It is so moving and wonderfully written, words can not express the love I have for this book. Little Willy was forced to make mature and wise choices, and he made these choices on behalf of his very sick Grandfather. Then one day he found a poster for a dog sled race, and the winner got $500! Little Willy was sure that Grandfather's disability to pay the taxes was the cause of his sickness, so money would be the remedy! But he is up against 10 to 1 odds, because of the almighty indian, Stone Fox. What happens will make you happy and extremely sad, so be prepared for one of the saddest, yet one of the best books around.

Book Review: Stone Fox is a Must Read!
Summary: 5 Stars

Gardiner has created a powerful story of determination and heartache in his book, Stone Fox. This book is appropriate for children in third through sixth grade and it will appeal to young boys and animal lovers. The struggles and experiences that Little Willy must go through to help his family presents a real-life connection for readers. The few black and white drawings in the book help readers to visualize the story. The action in the story builds quickly to keep readers interested. Although it may be hard to believe that an amateur ten-year-old boy could come that close to winning a dog sled race with one unexperienced dog when competing against an experienced man with a team of 5 dogs, the story provides a sense of pride and accomplishment to young readers by highlighting the character building scenarios that Willy has gone through and his determination to help his family. Additionally, while the ending is unexpected and sad, the mood is lightened by the kindness of the competitors in the race.
