Book Reviews of State of FearBook Review: Crichton again proves he is ahead of the curve Summary: 5 Stars
As the consensus on "Climate Change" previously referred to as "Global Warming" begins to show cracks in its facade, Michael Crichton's "State of Fear" from 2004 validates the premise behind his novel and environmentalism as a religion. I have read this book twice and I am going to read it again. I sorely miss my favorite author, a man who always seemed to be just ahead of the trends and innovations of tomorrow.
Book Review: Great story, Crichton style Summary: 5 Stars
State of Fear is another great story, Michael Crichton style, which is to say that it is engrossing, cutting edge, and fun to read. The storyline is relevant to today's media climate (no pun intended). The depth of feeling about the book's premise from both Crichton fans and global warming theory enthusiasts speaks to the ability of the author to use science to make us think. The story doesn't disappoint.
Book Review: Awesome and thought provoking Summary: 5 Stars
Crichton's State of Fear was not only very entertaining to read, but included tons of interesting research and information on the subject of global warming. If anyone still believes in the supposed "climate crisis", I challenge them to read this book created by a man with no agenda, and see how long your beliefs hold strong. My respect for Crichton doubled since reading this.
Book Review: State of Fear Summary: 5 Stars
A riveting page-turner, as we've come to expect from Crichton. Also impeccably researched, with as many references as a scientific-journal article.
Crichton's "Author's Message" and Appendix I following the book's conclusion are the most comprehensive literature review and well-thought-out commentary on climate change I've ever seen.
Book Review: State of Fear Summary: 5 Stars
Excellent story. Author does a good job of demonstrating the weak science behind global warming and presents a schilling comparison to past historical events that went badly. Excellent bibliography on scientific works which places global warming where it belongs as a theory and more as a political myth. A good read as well
