Book Reviews of State of Fear

Book Review: Thank You, Michael
Summary: 5 Stars

Michael gave us a huge gift in 2003 when this book was published. It only seems fair that he be around in 2009 when the Climategate email and computer code exposure completely verifies and validates what he told us. Often, life is unfair and he's not here to see the complete destruction and discredit of the human-caused warming theme. Regardless, thank you, Michael for the voice of reason you contributed during your too-short lifetime.

Ken Coffman is the author of Hartz String Theory and other novels.

Book Review: Makes You Think
Summary: 5 Stars

A long book but a quick read. If you can leave your political shoes at the door you will enjoy a great piece of FICTION. It really makes you think about the stories you read on CNN or hear about on the news....Who is gathering all of this data? Can those sources be trusted? Are big companies paying the researchers to show them in a favorable light?

Kinda like when all of these car mags picked Toyota as a top company several years in a row...oops.

Book Review: Good Read
Summary: 5 Stars

Great 2 day read. Story grabbed me on page one and wouldn't let go. A few passages of the debate dialogue among the characters was a bit cheesy for a first class author, but in no way detracted from the quality of the novel. The author's message section and appendices are quite thought provoking, especially for one who grew up in an era that revered science as truth, and is now disallusioned and wonders if the scientific method is still alive and well. Book Review: Global warming is still a theory, not fact
Summary: 5 Stars

This book does an excellent job of reminding non-scientific people that many of the observations of global warming have not been duplicated in a controlled lab environment. The models are immature and need time to be proven out. It does not mean to say that global warming does not exist, but rather just in the early stages of being understood. Should a country spend billions of dollars on a theory that will affect everyone economically? Something to think about...

Book Review: State of Fear Book Review
Summary: 5 Stars

The book arrived in excellent condition and was well worth the money, and arrived in good time. Michael Crichton makes an indisbutable case that global warming does not exist --- I never believed that it did. He backs up his statements with many references from scientific journals, getting his point across with an exciting story line and believable characters, exposing the prejudices of many in the so-called envionmental movement.
