Book Reviews of Stargirl (Readers Circle)Book Review: Stargirl Summary: 5 Stars
Wow. I adored this book. I didn't really think that I'd like it that much, to be honest. It's not the type of thing I normally read, but I was proven wrong. This book is fantastic, and the best thing about it is that it showed me what it's truly like to be unique. I was actually inspired by Stargirl's character... she's someone I'd like to be like, and I wish that I could not care about what people think. This book would be good for a 9 year old or a 60 year old, because it is just that good.
Book Review: Favorite!! Summary: 5 Stars
Stargirl is my favorite book in the world. It is such a wonderful story with a fabulous message. If only more people in the world could be like Stargirl. I am so excited to hear that Jerry Spinelli is coming out with a sequel this summer. Yay!! Other books for similar tastes: Flipped and Sunshine
Book Review: Perfect for teenagers Summary: 5 Stars
Stargirl is a great book for teachers to use in class. Stargirl changes her name periodically, making it plausible to believe that she could be anyone - even the reader. Great themes for discussions: why is someone so good and kind ostracized, what in the world is wrong with her boyfriend, why does is take him so long to see how special Stargirl really is,why is being small-minded considered socially acceptable? Both boys and girls will enjoy reading this funny, heartwarming book.

Book Review: This should be required reading for teens. Summary: 5 Stars
The story of Star Girl - a super-nice, but strange girl, is told as seen through the eyes of a high-school boy. And although Star Girl is the central character, ultimately the story isn't so much about her as it is about us. The author uses her as a mirror to explore how we, individually and as a society, react to those among us whose behavior we find challengin or unsettling.
Highly recommended.
