I hesitate to share my experience, because my fertility journey has been very long so I understand my recent events have been nothing short of miraculous. I got this book from the library, read a little, picked it back up as I prepared for my umteenth (and it is in the teens) medicated cycle to have a second child. I started chanting, stopped for a few days, then kicked it hard as I got closer to ovulation. In the mean time, I had completed an expedited home study only to decide international adoption wasn't for me and I'd try foster to adopt given friends of mine could coach me through it. But, still I persisted with cycling to try to provide my DD with a full sibling. On the day of the procedure, my phone rang while I was at the acupuncturist and while I was chanting heavily. I was on a tight schedule so didn't look at who called. On the way home from the IUI, I chanted the lights out. My phone rang again. I finally looked when I got home and it was a good friend of mine from home who said to call her asap. Long story short, she knew of a baby who was about to be born who would be put up for adoption. A week later, I helped with the birth. Two weeks later, that baby is our darling daughter (and beloved little sister). Was it the chanting, the fact I had a home study completed, my will to have a second child (4.5 years of trying) or some combo of them all? Who knows. But I do know that reading the part about adoption helped me to be open to having my child come to me in whatever manner was best. I hope the same for anyone reading this review.
