Book Review: Disappointment for soul wisdom

I easily own 50 or more books on various western life transformation ideas, eastern philosophies,(mostly on Buddhism), and the different styles of meditation. I was excited about this book in part due to the "free" CD which was unplayable-only heard static and I tried it on several CD players. A suggestion for a soul soothing CD is ASIN:B00005KIZI Spirit of the Canyon, as this music causes me to feel happy vs. grouchy. As for the author's writing style, it is easy to comprehend and the book is fairly well laid out. This book should have only taken several evenings to finish, but it took weeks. The content is where I had my disappointment. I just could not get interested in this book (on the other hand ASIN:0385497911 The Diamond Cutter: The Buddha on Managing Your Business and Your Life, made me savor its lessons). I think possibly my pragmatic earthy mind showed itself too much, (usually my bent towards mysticism wins out), as I found much of the book a re-hash of what I've already been exposed and other information too far-fetched for me to practice. I already practice yoga and meditation. I do believe with the author that the consciousness of humanity needs to be transformed. I do not believe that inanimate objects have a soul. Nor do I believe he has a pact w/ the Divine agreeing to provide "Divine Downloads" specifically to the readers of this book. However now that it is at a bargain book price, you may want to consider purchasing it or check your local library to review it first.
