I found this to be a well-written and generally helpful guide to using the Sony DSLR-A100, far easier to follow than the manual that came with the camera. However, I found that for my purposes the Magic Lantern guide (titled simply SONY DSLR A 100 and also available from Amazon), which is comparable in cost, to be more helpful. While it lacks the color pictures of this guide, the trade-off for me was the more detailed information in the latter guide about the camera itself. In short I found that the "Digital Field Guide" tended to be simply a generic guide to DSLR cameras with Sony DSLR information pasted in wherever the author found it appropriate. The Magic Lantern guide on the other hand was Sony DSLR specific from the get-go (and you can by a parallel Magic Lantern DVD that is outstanding).Book Review: For novices only; essentially just a glorified Sony manual

Long story short - this was a waste for me. Definitely for entry-level DSLR photographers ONLY. Essentially a glorified Sony manual.
