Book Review: Just Like The Good Old Days, Good Solid Basic Information!

The first part of this book has a section entitled, "Using This Book," and I found it very useful as the author provided a "Key" with a variety of different icons that were going to be used throughout the book and an explanation as to what each icon represented and how to use them as you came upon them while reading through the rest of the book. I personally found this to be very, very useful and quite clever.

The author covers a wide variety of training exercises and techniques which cover all body parts such as; the abs, arms, legs, chest, back, etc. The author obviously knows what he is talking about and provides a lot of solid useful information on how to improve your martial arts skills using a wide range of training techniques, from simple basic ideas to some really unique ideas. Some of which I personally found very useful.

If you have had a few years (or more) of experience in the martial arts, you may find that some of these training routines are "old hat" or nothing new, and that is fine. But I would be willing to bet that regardless of how many years you have, or in some cases don't have, in the martial arts, you can still find some very useful information contained within the pages of this book.

I would also recommend the following books written by the author; Fighter's Fact Book: Over 400 Concepts, Principles, and Drills to Make You a Better Fighter, Fighter's Fact Book 2: Street Fighting Essentials, and Solo Training: The Martial Artist's Guide to Training Alone.
