Book Reviews of SmartFrench: Beginner Level - Learn French from Real French PeopleBook Review: Very Helpful Summary: 5 Stars
I found the Smart French lessons very helpful. I'm planning on a trip to Montreal and I really need to pronounce French properly. Learning phrases are easy but saying them properly is a different matter. These lessons really helped me to learn to pronounce things I never thought I could pronounce.
The people who administer Smart French are also extremely helpful. I needed lists of French to English words and they emailed it to me immediately. I really appreciated their customer service.
Book Review: FUN INTERVIEWS IN FRENCH Summary: 5 Stars
There are enough different interviews to keep you amused:a chef, a gallery owner, a singer, an ebenist etc.And at the end of the advanced level, at least 15 more French people participate. After frequent playing you begin to "get" the French news & film dialogue starts to make sense. This program should be part of other more standardized language training. Grammar & vocabulary you'll find elsewhere but training your ear & eye to recognize intonation & native patterns is the key here.

Book Review: Learning Can Be Fun! Summary: 5 Stars
This is the first learning program that made me laugh! Thanks to SmartFrench for creating such a good product. The method is much like that by which kids learn. It introduces the patterns of the spoken language, not just grammar and vocabulary; so it's possible, in short order, to begin constructing sentences that sound French. It's a real confidence-builder. And it's fun. The speakers have personalities that keep the learner engaged. There's nothing boring about SmartFrench.
Book Review: It's working..... Summary: 5 Stars
I have been using the beginner level of SmartFrench for several weeks now, and I have found it to be both enjoyable and effective. While I tried using it without referring to the translations, because I play it in my car, it is really better to be able to read the English text. Not only does it help me with comprehension, but the conversations with various people are actually entertaining. So if you're looking for a good basic French series, this is a great place to start.
