Book Reviews of Slash

Book Review: I don't like their music, but this book was a great joy to read!
Summary: 5 Stars

I am not a fan. I don't even like the music, but I bought this because it was a nonfiction and high on the best sellers list. Yes, I read them all.
If you like biographies, this is a great one. The writing is extraordinary. It flows beautifully. Helped by a very interesting story, this book is one of the best I've read. You don't have to be a fan to be addicted to this book. I find myself lying to my wife telling her that I have business meetings, but really I'm going to the Tim Horton's coffee shop and devouring this book.

Book Review: An EXCELLENT READ!!! a brilliant autobiography!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

This was a wonderful, honest, open autobiography. This isn't just another biography of the rise and fall of Guns n' Roses. No, this is the story of Slash. The REAL DEAL. THE TRUE HISTORY OF THIS GREAT GUITARIST!!! What I liked most about this book is, though HE wrote the book, it has this honest feel. You can tell that he's not doing this just for publicity or fame, he's really just spilling his story on paper. If you're even slightly a fan of guns n' roses and/or velvet revolver then, seriously, buy this book. IT IS REALLY GOOD!!!

Book Review: A good mix of entertainment and history
Summary: 5 Stars

This isn't one of your boring autobiographies. The book progresses from Slash's early childhood to his current status in life, and it's entertaining every step of the way. Slash shares moments of triumph as well as humiliating incidents, and tells us stories of many of the celebrities he's met over the years. He also answers the questions running through the minds of all Guns N Roses fans: What happened? Could it have been avoided? I'd recommend this book for any GNR fan. Damn near 500 pages, and not one was boring.

Book Review: The book you might expect from someone as talented as Slash
Summary: 5 Stars

It could use some heavy proofreading, but Slash's autobiography is pretty awesome nonetheless, especially if you're looking for a well-written, in-depth, no-b.s. insider account of the rise and fall of GNR. If you're a diehard fan, as I am, I think this book'll give you an even greater appreciation for some of the best rock n' roll ever played. Slash's accounts of how Appetite was written and recorded, for example, brought home to me how much that album really did catch lightning in a bottle.

Book Review: Best book about GNR and of course, Slash
Summary: 5 Stars

Finally got aroudn to ordering and reading this book, and I am certainly glad I did. Being a big GNR fan, I've always wanted to know what the band was really like and why they fell apart so quickly. Until Axl writes his own book, this book will be the best one about Guns N' Roses and their rise & fall. Slash decribes his upbringing, first learning to playing a guitar, and how GNR came to be in fluid detail. The making of AfD also is described with the source of every song.
