Book Reviews of SlashBook Review: A very well written tell-all by the famous guitarist Summary: 5 Stars
Guns 'n Roses has been my favorite band for years. A lot of that had to do with Slash. He is my guitar idol and the whole reason I decided to become a guitarist myself.
Of course a lot of the rumors over the years about the fallout between Slash and Axl were absurd and completely untrue while some actually did happen. But it was hard to figure out what was truth and what wasn't when it came to topics like that.
So Slash tells once and for all everything that went on with the Guns n Roses era, even years before that. In fact, he tells you about his life from about the age of 3 or 4. His childhood was very interesting and he writes it all in a way that makes everything he talks about exciting.
But the best parts of the book were his tales of struggling with drugs and alcohol, the problems in the band, and problems with his girlfriends/wives. He goes into great detail about all of this, so you really learn pretty much all there is to know about him.
DEFINITELY recommended if you are a GnR fan, Slash fan, Axl fan, or even just a fan of rock and rollers adventures through their popularity.
The book is 400+ pages so he leaves no details out of anything he talks about. And that's one reason I enjoyed it so much.
Book Review: you need to understand the situation Summary: 5 Stars
This might be a short argument but this is a good book, pretty clear and funny biography. If you are a fan of GN and have live a similar crazy life as any of the character of the band, you might find the book very interesinting and funny. It brings all kind of memories about things that you had done when you were a teenager. I am not saying that it is ok to do stuped things, special when people get hurt, but the story of Slash' life is similar as mine; exept that I did not became famus, make money or anything similar. Although, the book related all this kind of stories, it is very well explained about what really happen with the band and its members. I think that the book is really good, and every penny that you pay is worthy. The book is just for entertaiment, and for GN and Slash' fans. If you dislike the book is because you refuse to understand what is like to live an out of control life, or you are too boring to understand the GN life.
Book Review: Slash - The Book Summary: 5 Stars
Slash tells his story from his funny and adventurous childhood through his Guns N Roses days to his present work with Velvet Revolver. There have been many unofficial biographies of Slash and other GNR-related books, but finally we have something from the man himself.
Besides, Slash is a really smart guy, so this is not just another average rock book. It's a captivating story. His style is honest and easy to read, his comments and conclusions are backed up by nice rare pictures. The guy sure has great sense of humor, too!
It's one of the best books I've read this year. The top-hatted guitar hero has become a legend, played with many other rock legends and experienced the evolution of rock music from the 80s until present day. He's been there, done that and has a lot to tell about life and the music business. Here's our chance to hear it straight from the source.
Book Review: glad I read it... Summary: 5 Stars
Slash pours out a ton of stories surrounding his childhood, the rise and fall of G&R and after. Most of the stories revolve around some type of drug use, which I totally expected but not to such a great extent.
I love the way the book reads... The author(s) tended to ramble from one small story to another to get to a larger story. This is completely fine with me, as I would expect that would be the way that Slash would tell a long story. And there are times where you can tell that Anthony Bozza took some authoring liberties with sentence structure and word selection.
I really appreciated reading this book, but I know there is so much more hidden under that hat and he's only telling us 5% of craziness... but, I'll take it! I highly recommend this book if you were a Guns fan back in the late 80's.

Book Review: Cop and Load, Cop and Load, Then Pass Out Summary: 5 Stars
This is the usual dope fiend, rock n' roll guitar player's story. Drink the usual half gallon of booze, load up with coke and heroin, hallucinate, run around looking for the little green men with a gun and passout. Then he starts that round all over again the next day. However, it is an unbelievably good read and is well-written. Slash and Nikki Sixx are brothers of the drug world and experienced the same drug induced nightmares. I first read the Heroin Diaries by Nikki and then Slash. How either one of these guys are still alive I do not know. The book flows with good stories and Slash does not leave any of the gory stuff out. I highly recommend it if you want to know everything about Slash from his childhood to the Guns N' Roses era to the present with nothing left out. You will not be disappointed.
