Book Reviews of Sins of the Fathers: A Gabriel Knight Novel

Book Review: If you are a Nightmare Hunter, read this book!
Summary: 4 Stars

Jane Jensen is the best adventure game creator in the world. This book is a perfect walkthrough for her CD-ROM game "Sins of the Father". It explains many of the less obvious puzzles gamers encounter on this adventure. The use of profanity, however, seemed forced and completely unnecessary. Gabriel and Mosely are too lovable to try to make into tough guys with bad language. It interrupted the flow in places. The story itself is very intriguing, and the game was an artistic wonder. I have played the sequel, "The Beast Within", and it is very exciting. Grace gets to play a much more active role, and the other characters should be great in print too. Jane Jensen's Schattenjagers are wonderful heroes and good reading (and gaming). Enjoy!

Book Review: A really enjoyable read
Summary: 4 Stars

I really liked the novel version of this story. Even though I had played the CD-ROM before I read the novel. The novel is well written and it makes you think. I have not played the second game, but I am eagerly awaiting the second novel in this series, "The Beast Within" so I can follow the story and learn more about the powers of the Shattenjagers, Gabriel Knight's family. In all this book is well worth reading

Book Review: Sins of the Fathers, a great book
Summary: 4 Stars

I have played both games but I never finished the first one. I found the novel "Sins of the Fathers" in a book store and I finished it the very next day. Jane Jensen's writing is similar to Stephen King, but she carves out her own niche in horror. The mix of Voodoo and the characters mix into a graphic and powerful page turner. If you like King, or have any curiosity in Voodoo this is the book to read

Book Review: worth it
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a book of a guy called Gabriel and his quest to find a good story for his book he's writing. I enjoyed the book. It was entertaining. If your looking for a geniously written story stick with King or Crichton, but if you want to buzz through a quick 400 page book of mystery, humor, love, and some violence tossed in there, you'll most likely enjoy the book! I haven't played the game yet but I plan on it.

Book Review: Whoa. This rocks.
Summary: 4 Stars

I was obssessed with it! The book is addicting. I lent it to a friend in June and didn't get it back till September cause he was into it. I'd give it a 10, but 3 points lost for all the unneeded f-words. -A Scattenjager-
