Book Review: Step by step guide to take control of your life

Marla's book did more than help me declutter my home. Like a good therapist, she helped me analyze and tackle issues in all facets of my life. My debts are paid, my house is clean, I am taking control of the food I eat. I exercise. My shopping is no longer out of control. Seems unbelievable, doesn't it? From reading one little bright pink book I have taken control of my life and have become empowered. First, I cleaned my sink. Yep, something that simple. From there, I made small, steady changes. She explains it all in easy, clear sentences. And because she herself had been where I was, I knew I could change.The big difference between this book and any other "how to clean" book is that the others are mostly written by people who have always been clean and organized and want to teach those who aren't. They have no idea of the weird ways we non-organized, clutterbug-types think. But Marla does. And she takes you by the hand and leads you into the life you never thought you would have: Dinner parties without worrying about what the guests will see. Decorating for Christmas, because there's finally room in the living room for a tree. Taking up the craft projects you always wanted to do but never had the time or space to do them.
I could go on and on (like I have already). It's just amazing to me... I have a clean house and I do less housework than I did before reading the book! Marla, if I could have kids, I'd name one after you. You saved my home, my sanity, my marriage- my LIFE!

Sink reflections is FlyLady's (Marla Cilley) own version of the system in the book Side Tracked Executives ... she mentions this and gives them credit. She also has their support in her version of their system and it WORKS! Marla is awesome and has changed so many lives! She also explains that you can adapt this system to YOUR LIFE, wether you work from Home, Out of the home, are a stay at home mom , a grandma or not a Mom at all. It works well for Men too. The key is adapting her advice and routines to YOUR LIFE and what will work best for you. This is awsome advice that you can do here and there and work up to higher goals that you set for yourself and your home and or family! I personally think Marla is a super sweet person who has given so many of us what we need! Get the book and checkout her website! Yes you get about 15 emails a day, BUT she also explains how to use them and not to use them if you are not ready! It is very simple to delete them or glace at the title and know what it says inside, the reminders are self explanatory once you understand the "system". You simply use the reminder or you skip it! Marla is very loving and she is like a breath of fresh air in a world that is constantly urging us to BUY more and BE more and Do more. While you are working on your life and decluttering your house you also learn to love yourself. Fly Lady Sappy?? No , Fly Lady is a loving woman offering you a more peaceful, organized home in a simple easy way. This book is a GEM!Book Review: Baby Steps DOES make everything fall into place

This system is so much more than a book or an email mentoring site; it gives me the freedom and time to enjoy my life, family, job, and friends, all while living in a pleasant, well-organized home environment that nurtures me instead of enslaves me.Some people are constantly trying new ways to "organize and clean," spending all their time, energy, and emotions without ever achieving their goals of a peaceful home.
If you're tired of trying to keep up a crazed 1950s cleaning schedule, if you're tired of living in a pig sty, or if you've simply hit rock bottom, you can open this book and decide to give it a try.
It does work ~ once you get past the "whining" and trying to "do it your way," which Marla so sweetly points out, is not working or you wouldn't be searching for yet another "organizational system." If your way is not giving you the results you want, what do you have to lose?
After several months of reading the site and book I decided to "just do it." I followed her plan exactly for several months. WOW! Now that I've "gotten it," I've personalized and improvised until her system is now my system...and my home is happy and healthy and basically self-cleaning!
The first step is the Baby Steps...Yes; everything else will (eventually) fall into place if you begin with her "shine your sink" and "dress to the shoes," rules.
There's no Stepford wife here; just a happy woman enjoying the blessings of her life.

Book Review: This Is It!!!!

Are you wondering why there are over 300 reviews of this book? It is because this book will literally change your life. I am a woman with 9 years of higher education. I had 1000 employees, I had a nanny and housecleaners and I couldn't keep my house clean. I had two huge rented storage lockers (the size of garages) plus a two car garage and every closet in my house crammed with stuff. I was totally overwhelmed and everytime people were coming over or we were having a party I would completely wear myself out trying to get my house presentable. I would also turn into a raving [...] so of course my husband and kids hated the idea of us having guests. I have bought and read a dozen organization books and they all just made me feel bad. They made perfect sense and I couldn't get motivated to do anything they suggested.
The Fly Lady is magic. From the first day I felt better about my ability to actually dig my way out of the mess. It really did only take 15 minutes a day. Like she says, you can do anything for 15 minutes. Within a few months the storage lockers were gone, my garage was clean and all my closets were decluttered. It is a miraculous. You wouldn't believe how much this has improved my life and the lives of my family. It took me 56 years to learn how to keep my house looking great in only a few minutes every day. Amazing. Now some of my friends have been motivated by my experience and they are happily decluttering their houses too.
