Book Review: Wicked love...

The title SIMPLY WICKED can easily describe the main character Cassidy Hamilton with her playful ways and teasing manner. With such a joyful personality, one would not know the tragedy Cassidy suffered as a child, and its affect on her life. Nothing, however, could derail her childhood dream of becoming an actress. When Cassidy accepts an opportunity to work with a master acting coach in London, she doesn't have to be separated from her college roommate and best friend, Esme who is from London. Cassidy is excited about the new venture and ecstatic about being closer to Esme's brother, Tony Carleton. She has had a crush on him for many years and she knows he is the man of her dreams.
Tony is 14 years older than Cassidy and whatever feelings he may have for her, he is willing to sacrifice for her to have the chance to enjoy her life and career. It's easier said than done and he finds himself proclaiming his love for her. However, with a stalker after Cassidy, he must protect her and prove their love is wickedly wonderful.
SIMPLY WICKED spanned several years, the storyline gave readers an opportunity to learn the back story regarding Cassidy's life and an understanding of what the future for her might offer. Several of the characters at times were laugh-out-loud funny. Cassidy's character was much more defined than the others in the story. The pacing was a bit slow and I would have liked the relationship to build and burgeon. Also, there was an air of predictability, as well as an abrupt ending, which made situations seemingly wrap up too quickly.
Nevertheless, Riley does give readers some sensational and sultry love scenes. Even though this was an interracial couple, that issue didn't seem to be delved into or needed to be explored, because the love between Cassidy and Tony was the focus, which was refreshing.
