This is a book that takes us back to the end of the 1800's and the world of Sherlock Holmes and the establishment of the British Empire;albiet with a different slant.
It consists of 6 short(thank God)stories.If you have read much about Sherlock Holmes,you'll now experience it with the flavor of Faulty Towers,Benny Hill or Monty Python.To explain the differences in approach;it would be fair to describe it as replacing Pure Holmes with Pure Scat.
It is hard to see how fans of either could like both,but that is what is needed to appreciate the masterful humo(u)r here.
I was going to outline the jist of each story,but I'm not really sure I can.Therefore, I'll leave that scatty task to you.
There are some great lines scattered throughout this tome.Let me give you an example of what you'll find ..and there are sactloads of it for your enjoyment.
"It is ever the case,when considering the most esteemed Mr.Sherlock Holmes,that the periods of internse activity,when his quick-fire intellect can light up the sky like a diildo in a convent,are contrasted by a quicksand of the brain that shows his mind like drinking a pint with a floater in it."
