Book Reviews of Shadows of the Empire (Star Wars)

Book Review: Simply The Best!
Summary: 5 Stars

I think that Steve Perry is a wonderful writer and that his book, "Shadows of the Empire", deserves a full Five-Star Rating. This book takes place between two of Lucas' masterpieces, "The Empire Strikes Back" and "The Return of the Jedi". The book starts off after Solo has been frozen in carbonite, and tells of the journeys and achievements of Skywalker and the rest of the group, who are desperately trying to get Solo back. The book also brings in a few new characters, such as "Xizor", criminal lord of the "Black Sun", and a few others whom are vitally important in making this novel such an incredible masterpiece. I hope that you consider acquiring this astonishing novel, and I suggest that all you Star Wars Fans out there get it, and get it fast.

Book Review: Great book and answers alot of questions
Summary: 5 Stars

This book fills in the gap between TESB and ROTJ. It is mainly about the fued between Darth Vader and Prince Xizor for the favor of the Emperor. Meanwhile Leia, Luke, Lando and Chewie are planning to rescue Han from Boba Fett before he reaches Jabba's palace.

There is lots of cool background info in this book like how Luke made his lightsaber (and that book he found at Ben's house). Also it show how Leia got her Boussh disguise and the thermal detonator she showed up at Jabba's with. Also in ROTJ you hear about the Bothans that died getting the plans to the new deathstar. This book tells of the assault that was actually lead by Luke to retrieve them. There are also lots of great new characters added to the star wars universe like the Prince Xizor's lethal robot Guri and the mercenary Dash Rendar.

Book Review: Magnificent
Summary: 5 Stars

I really love this book. It is so well written. You can hardly put it down once you start. I was a little concerned about the lack of Han Solo, who is my hero. However, Steve Perry was kind {and brave} enough to add his Han-like character, Dash Rendar. Dash is every bit as cocky as Han, and although not as great of a character{who is?} he still brings a close to home feeling. George Lucas should talk to Steve Perry about dialogue. As good as GL is, Perry's dialogue outshines his. There are only a few "I have a bad feeling about this" type lines. The characters introduced here are excellent. Xixor is a excellent and dangerous new character, and Dash Rendar is excellent. The Swoop chase through tattoine and the Climax scenes are the many many many highlights of this fantastic novel.

Book Review: Basically, READ IT!!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

"This is a good 'easy reading' book, but it'llprobably be junk," I thought as I plucked"Shadows of the Empire" off the bookstore shelf. Wow, was I wrong! This book is fabulous--I couldn't stop turning the pages until I was finished. I, a "Star Wars" junkie, had always wondered what happened between Episodes 5 and 6, and now I know. Every "Star Wars" fan should read "Shadows of the Empire". Find out what happens while Han is still in carbonite, and Luke, Leia, Lando, Chewie, and the droids go to rescue him. But there are obstacles in their way: Darth Vader, the Emperor, the notorious Jabba, Prince Xizor, and other enemies. This book is exciting, compelling, funny, and basically fabulous. I loved it, and I highly recommend it! Read it!!!!!!

Book Review: OTHER THEN THE ORIGINAL THREE STAR WARS THIS IS THE BEST
Summary: 5 Stars

AFTER READING THE GREAT X-WING:ROGUE SQUADRON I HAD TO READ THIS BOOK. AND LET ME TELL YOU THIS IS SIMPLY THE BEST STAR WARS BOOK OTHER THEN THE ORIGINALS. I WASN'T DISSAPOINTED AT ALL BY READING THIS BOOK AS OTHERS HAD SAID. ROGUE SQUADRON GOT ME HOOKED ON STAR WARS BOOKS AND THIS ONE GOT ME EXCITED TO READ THE NEXT STAR WARS BOOK TO SEE IF IT IS AS GOOD AS THIS BUT SO FAR NONE HAS LIVED UP TO THE CHALLENGE. THE BACTA WAR, SOLO COMMAND AND MANDALORIAN ARMOR WERE THE CLOSEST ONES SO FAR. I LOVED THE NEW CHARACTER PRINCE XIZOR AND HIS DANGEROUSLY, DEADLY AND SEXY GURI. WHAT A WOMEN WELL I MEAN CYBORG. THE ONLY DISSAPOINTMENT WAS THAT STEVE PERRY DIDN'T WRITE ANOTHER STAR WARS BOOK. AND HE DID SUCH A GREAT JOB ON THIS ONE. ANYWAY THIS IS A DEFINITE MUST READ FOR STAR WARS FANS.
