Book Reviews of Shadows of the Empire (Star Wars)Book Review: A great read! Summary: 5 Stars
This book is very well written; it's easy to get into, and descriptive enough without being wordy and redundant. It's exciting from beginning to end, and there's not a dull moment in the entire story. The characters are nicely written, believable and interesting, and Perry remains true to the original characters' personalities. The book kind of re-hashes the basic story plots from the movies, however. Leia gets herself captured again, and Luke has to put himself on the line to save her. And the typical space battles are included: Rebels vs. Imperials. The inclusion of a new villain is very welcome. Xizor is a great baddie, even decides to go against Vader and the Emperor. We also get into Vader's more emotional and personal side. You can see his inner struggle when dealing with Luke, and he even disapproves of the Emperor at times. A great book overall, it fills in a lot of gaps and answers lots of questions about the time period between Empire and Jedi. Very good read for any fan of Star Wars, or of a great action book.
Book Review: The Interim of V and VI Summary: 5 Stars
Have you ever wondered what happened while Han Solo was frozen, and his friends were searching for him? If so, you've come to the right place. Many people would at first glance dismiss this book as a ripoff, or just another part of a stupid franchise, but this really is a great book. It tells the story of Dash Rendar, a man who looks like, has a similar ship as, and comes from the same planet as Han Solo. He is commisioned by Leia to watch Luke Skywalker's back, because he is a hunted man. As you know, Darth Vader wants him alive, but another man, Prince Xixor, wants him dead. Xixor is the head of an underground crime sydicate called Black Sun, and nothing would please him more than to see Vader fail. He believes that if Vader slips up, Emporor Palpatine will hire him to be his right-hand-man. The story follows the lines of Luke and Dash, Leia, Xixor, and Vader as they all try to accomplish their seperate goals. If you want a great read, try this book. It won't disappoint you, especially since there is no Jar Jar Binks.
Book Review: Starwars:Shadows of the Empire Summary: 5 Stars

The book is about Luke Skywalker being hunted down by Darth Vader (which we know is Anakin Skywalker ) and during the time Luke is constructing a new lightsaber and also training to become a Jedi Master . With him is Leia , Chewie , Lando and the two droids named R2-D2 and C-3p0. Alongside his companions they are trying to spring a plan to get Han Solo back and out of Frozen Carbonite . Which they are distracted by a character named Prince Xizor , which he is very wealthy and the boss of the Black Sun . He is also trying to get Luke but he wants to kill him . This book is very impressive which shows what they did between the sequels . I give this book a 10 out 10 and I would advise this book to anyone with a good since of adventure .Publisher- Lucas film LTD Author- Steve Perry Year- 1996 Pages- 384 pgs. Book Review: I liked this book Summary: 5 Stars
I would recommend this book for children because it contains action, suspense, and revenge. Prince Xizor is pitting himself against Darth Vader in a deadly game of "who's the slyest ". The book starts out on the Empire 's capital world of Coruscant where the Emperor is trying desparatley to "make Skywalker see the true side of the Force." . In the middle Luke, and a certain smuggler whose name I will not tell you, go with the Bothans to board an Imperial freighter that has the Death Star 2's main reactor in tow. At the end (my personal favorite part) "that certain guy" and Luke & Lando Calrissian break into the sewers of Coruscant to gain entry to Xizor's palace where Princess Leia is being held prisoner. That's really all I can tell you for the rest would be considered a spoiler. If you're a Star Wars fanatic like me you will love this book ( I might also recommend the trilogy Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, and the Last Command by Timothy Zahn )
Book Review: Good enough to inspire toys!!! Summary: 5 Stars
This is Star Wars Episode 5.5. What happens between "Empire" and "Jedi"? What is the deal when Mon Mothma mentions that many Bothans died to bring us the New Death Star info? What is the deal with Leia's disguise in "Jedi"? Chewy's Hair cut? etc. This book actually begins in the middle of "Empire Strikes Back" during Darth Vader's Communication with the Emperor. We see that scene from Vader's perspective in "Empire". This book cleverly begins from the Emperor's chambers. And immediately, the reader is hooked! Read this book!!! If you are like me and have seen the movies so many times you fear to even speak the number, this book has the ability to make you freshly view Episodes 5 and 6 from a whole different light. As a testament to how good this book is, a soundtrack was developed and and entire (abbreviated) Hasbro toy line. I would love to see this one translated to film, that is how good this is.
