Book Review: Raw and honest. An effective tool for improving self-esteem.

I've spent several months with this very engaging 4-CD set and offer five stars for its capacity to help one heal from acute self-esteem issues.
After listening to it the first time, I went through a depression for about a week. Caroline's shameless sharing of her own experiences and her in-depth discussion about intuition and self-esteem stirred the murky waters of my own subconscious.
I've practiced the meditation exercise on the third CD a few times--and more will follow. It's an innovative technique where the listener visualizes him/herself as becoming a giant in a situation with another person while creating a psychic crystal to protect both the listener and the other person from each other's negative energy. I have found this technique sooths my nerves in the most difficult circumstances while helping me to let go of any resentments toward the subject of my meditation.
I listened to the entire set again recently and realized how much my healing has progressed.
Caroline's dry humor prevails even while she takes this lesson very seriously. While recorded in front of a studio audience, Sounds True eliminates audio from the spectators. Often times, we forget Caroline is speaking in front of a crowd, resulting in a quietness that makes the message more hard-hitting. It took some getting used to at first but doesn't take away from Caroline's enigmatic and entertaining presentation style.
I highly recommend this CD to people who feel trapped by societal or familial pressures as well as those who have a strong sense of what's right for them (whether it's leaving a high-paying job or exiting a relationship) but are too afraid to act.

If you are familiar with Caroline's work and have enjoyed it then I can say you will enjoy Self Esteem and find this well grounded, well rounded, sensible and wholistic approach to Self Esteem to be of real value. There are so many of us (including those actively on their spiritual path) who suffer from the effects of poor self-esteem. Much of information we come across on the spiritual path (the path to wholeness) evens sets people up to have or maintain a low self-esteem. Our self-esteem equates to our willingness to BE HERE and to participate in life fully, lovingly, with power and presence, and in service to the Big Picture. With poor self esteem this is a formidable task that we are bound to sabotage time and time again.For those that are not familiar with Caroline's work... well, this is as good a place to start as any. I know you will find many treasures in this work of hers that you will treasure for years to come. You might also like to explore "Advanced Energy Anatomy", "Sacred Contracts", "Why people don't heal", "Spiritual Madness".
If you are seeking wholeness and a balance understand of yourself and the ways you relate to self, the world, and life, that perhaps leave you feeling unsatisfied then please explore this audio book and enjoy the ride.
Book Review: Very Practical for Me!

This audiobook by Myss is life-changing for me. I can look back at my life and see how my self-worth has always been plugged into the Tribe. Before taking action I would scrutinize, from every possible angle, how "the Tribe" would approve or disapprove of the action. This is an exhausting, disempowering way to live! I feel I have been on a gradual journey to self-empowerment over the last couple years, but now Myss has pushed me over that abyss and I am forever changed. I feel she gave very practical advise on how to become self-empowered and help improve your self-esteem. I guess it just depends what YOU find useful or not or what YOU find practical. For me, it is very practical now, when faced with crippling self-esteem dilemmas, to go within and remember my grounding, remember what I am plugged into and where my self-esteem is firmly planted. This work is a true "Diamond in the rough"..Caroline is right on about self esteem,it is our core power!If you want to change your life and take control of your life rather than allowing others to do it for you than get this incredibly awesome self help CD set.After listening to this program my young daughters(upon hearing it while I was listening) asked to borrow it and out of the mouths of babe~~This is a program that should be required in schools!
Your life will not change overnight,you must do the work upon recognizing patterns...but,It's so easy to do and Very Empowering!
A must have...I highly recommend this program to all.Very satisfied here.Thank you Caroline.

I have listened to my 4 CD set about 5 times since I bought it. It is terrific. Any fans of the Advanced Energetic Anatomy CD's, Anatomy of the Spirit CD's, Spiritual Power - Spiritual Practice CD's will love this - they will not be disappointed. Caroline is always educational, and is a brilliant teacher. We are so lucky to be alive in this era; and to be able to listen to and act upon her teachings.Even now when I listen to it I laugh out loud at the humorous anecdotes she shares with us. It has a warm and genuine dialogue and I think this will become one of the most easily listened to and cherished Caroline Myss CD sets around.
