If you are looking for a good guide book on scientific reading and writing, this is the answer to your request. This book will guide you step by step in getting the best out of your findings. It highlights a whole new set of personal skills, which can be acquired. This book starts with a reading toolkit. This toolkit provides the recipe to sustain the reader's attention and ensure continuous reading. The hands-on techniques Lebrun proposes are clear, practical, and proven to produce results in terms of clarity, conciseness, fluidity, organization, and convincing power of your writing. What is also unique in this book, is the collection of real life fun-to-read stories that reinforce the learning process. The second part of the book is where the writing process is described following a suggestive metaphor: the abstract is the heart of a paper, visuals are its voice, etc. The creativity in this book is seen throughout, even in its index section where qualities of writing are the main index categories under which the various methods to achieve them are gathered.
To all I would say, this is the book for learning how good reading and good writing is. I truly enjoyed reading it, and refer to it frequently throughout my process of writing scientific articles. This book is the "translational toolkit" for good scientific data, from the bench to the readers.
