Book Reviews of SavvyBook Review: Wonderful Story Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great book! Fun to read, with several interesting characters, many of whom have equally interesting "savvies". Their emotions are easily felt and believed. The book's messages- everyone has their own special talents, and everyone has to figure out how to use those talants- are good ones, and they are presented in a way that's not overly preachy. Some people have complained about the "country dialect" used by the author, but it didn't bother me.
Be sure to read the sequel, too!
Book Review: kid or not, this book is great! Summary: 5 Stars
I absolutely loved this book. It sounded like an interesting storyline to me so I was intrigued. When I picked it up, I simply could NOT put it down. I read it in one day, nearly in one sitting. It made me smile and laugh out loud and it made me happy. Sure it was a little predictable, but the journey was so enjoyable I didn't even care. I will wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone (and everyone) I know, of any age. Read it, you'll love it too!
Book Review: Fun For All Ages Summary: 5 Stars
This is a kid's book, but as an adult I found myself hooked from the first page. This is a touching coming of age tale with themes of family and sacrifice deeply etched on each page. It's an adventure story from the beginning and I was unable to put the book down until I finished it. I highly recommend this story to anyone who enjoys a good read without any offensive language or violence in it. I look forward to more books by this author.
Book Review: SAVVY-LICIOUS! Summary: 5 Stars
From the first delicious page, I was hooked. SAVVY is full of inspiring, delightful, loveable characters. SAVVY takes you on an amazing bus trip into laughter and magical excitement. I hope this book receives lots of industry buzz and awards because it's amazing and memorable. It's one of my favorite reads for 2008.
I can't wait to read more about these remarkable characters from this very "savvy" author. Excellent debut!
Book Review: The language is out of this world. . .looking for a tall tale? Summary: 5 Stars
I absolutely loved this book. I was hooked from page 1. I agree with other reviewers that mention how wonderful the writer's language is. There are similes and metaphors galore making it a fun ride. This is reminiscent of fun tall tales of the past. We don't see many stories like this. Is it believable? No. Is it realistic? No, but it is a lot of fun. I hope we see a lot more from this author!
