Book Reviews of Rule of Two (Star Wars: Darth Bane, Book 2)Book Review: Easy and fun follow-up Summary: 5 Stars
I had a great time with this one as I did with the first in the series. This offering was just a tiny bit less entertaining than the Path of Destruction but still a really good read. Drew Karpyshyn just has a style of writing that is simple and to the point. This makes for story telling that is priority. No heavy sub-plots and no weighted down political overtones like a lot of SW books have... and in a lot of cases - ruins the fun of a Star Wars story. The subject matter is the real pusher of this though. I am looking forward to the paperback of the next one!
Book Review: Karpyshyn Keeps It Great Summary: 5 Stars
Karpyshyn's first Darth Bane book (Path of Destruction) was excellent, setting the bar high for any sequel. Fortunately, this one lives up to it. Rule of Two goes into depth on how Bane trains his first apprentice while continuing to delve into the mysterious personality of the enigmatic Sith. It also explores some of the more fascinating secrets of the Star Wars universe, such as the formation of a holocron, the specialties of Jedi training, and more history of Sith power.
This was a fast read, very fun and filled with excitement. Well done!
Book Review: Great Read Summary: 5 Stars
I thought the storyline was ify in the beginning and middle sections of the book, because it sounded highly repetitive. That's not to say the book wasn't great though; Drew Karpyshan's writing is as unique as it is masterful. I really thought that the ending of the book was so smart as it had me changing sides of who was the most innocent character with the best of intentions (you'll know when you get to the end). An excellent read for a great price, the Rule of Two does not disappoint.
Book Review: Best starwars book ever! Summary: 5 Stars
The work of a genius to sum it up. Darth Bane rule of two is a journey into the darkside of the force from the perspective of two siths and a Jedi bent on exposing them. It was masterly crafted ande the action leaves one craving more. I only hope a third installment is in the works, it would be a shame if this series ends here.
Book Review: Star Wars Marathon Part 8 Summary: 5 Stars
This was a worthy sequel to Path of Destruction although there was the downside that it contained less physical violence. Rule of Two compensates for this with its added mystery and intensity and with the character of Zanah. The end lightsaber battle is exceptionally good. Overall: a worthy but not equal successor.
