Book Reviews of Ruffian: Burning from the StartBook Review: Ruffian Burning from the Start Summary: 5 Stars
The book makes for excellent reading, in that it is the type of book, you do not want to put down!
I thought it was well written and described, by Ms. Schwartz, and think a movie would be outstanding!
Was recently advised that a movie in fact is being made by ABC, and ESPN for TV, which is coming out next June 2007.
Book Review: Great work Summary: 5 Stars
I always knew the name Ruffian and had heard tales of her greatness on the track, but this book really does a fabulous job of getting behind the scenes of horse racing's greatest tragedy. I'm a better fan of the game for understanding what this horse meant to so many people and having a sense of her place in the history of the sport.
Book Review: an amazingly written account of racing's best Summary: 5 Stars
Ruffian was before my time, but the book seemed to drop me into her life and those around her. I came away with a lot of respect for the great horse, and a better understanding of the horseracing world. I highly recommend this book to any horse lovers and history buffs. Don't forget your Kleenex, either.
