Book Review: Comprehensive and Nicely done

I am a prospective pilot, having done most of my PPL years ago, and decided to get this book, because I needed to be clued up before I went up. Well having had a few books on various subjects pertaining to getting your PPL, it's nice to have it all in one place.
I gave it 5 stars, but just two things that would be nice is some more colour in sections especially where colour is important i.e. runway markings, gauges, basically anything that a pilot would associate with a particular colour.
There is a nice colour section on Airspace, and this helps alot, thus my comment.
The other thing that is slightly annoying, although I suppose you could get used to it, is the fact that there are no page numbers. Section numbers exist i.e. B7, but to get there quickly is a bit of a mission. Maybe they did this so you'd always have to rifle through alot of pages to get somewhere, and so subliminaly get more info while searching.
So to sum up the brief slight hick ups for me, it's to do with user friendliness...which I suppose can vary from user to user.
Ok so what is good about it, well everything else. Comprehensive content, all in one book, nice illustrations and graphics, great sense of humour, so if Rod ever needs to quit flying he can do comedy somewhere and be a success there too. Plus he has these books, so it's looking good.
Being so comprehensive, it stands to reason that you cannot go into minute detail re everything, but there certainly is more than enough, and it takes quite awhile to get through everything, so thankfully you won't fry your brain...but it can come close getting warmer than usual.
The great thing is that you can go back at any stage and read up about engines, weather etc...and know that it's pretty much covered.
So if you have flown or want to fly then go ahead and get this book, since unless we all get replaced by robots one day, we'll always need to know this stuff.
I see Rod also has a book on instrument flying, and once I've completely crammed by brain full of all the info in this book, I'll wait for it to settle, and then start on that one.
Let's not meet by accident up there.
