Book Review: The best intro to robot building you are likely to find

I thought this was a terrific book for people getting their feet wet in robot building. Cook has a very engaging style that makes the book very readable. Instead of reading several different books in order to build a robot, I found this book covered all the material in one place that could get you started on robot building. Another nice feature of the book is that is peppered with high quality photographs of components and parts that are used to build a robot. This completely takes the guesswork out of the process of robot making.

Being a high school student, I find this book incrediby informative as I have not had the background necessary in robotics to build a robot on my own successfully. It was a bit challenging but I appreciated the diagrams and other charts, and the explanations for the tools were probably the main reason I completed the bot as quickly as I did. Robotics is now one of my regular hobbies and I have moved on to some more complex models and am enjoying it greatly becuase of the basic foundation this book provided.Book Review: Excellent Practical Advice

I went to school for Electrical Engineer. Unfortunately, most of the education is theoretical and made for cubical dwellers. This book is a perfect companion for those wanting to get their hands dirty; which comes in handy if one's technician assistant takes the day off. I also found this to be a great book to share with my 10 year old. I would not expect kids to enjoy reading it; however, it helped explain the details in ways he would understand as we built the robot.Book Review: Just what I was looking for!

I'm just starting into robotics and have no knowlwdge of electronics. I was thus looking for a beginners book needed to get started. I found that this book "Robot Building for Beginners" to be the best book to start with, even better than the "Robot Building for Dummies". Having got a good start with "Robot Building for Beginners" I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series for more advanced topics.Book Review: This book is exactly as described in the title.

This book is perfect for a begginer or someone with a little experience. I ordered it because I had some knowldge about electronics but none related to robots. It fills in everybit of knowldge you could want, giving you the tools you need to actually accomplish something. After reading you have everything you need to build the robot in the book or something completely different and more to your liking.
