Book Reviews of Report from Engine Co. 82Book Review: Still remembered after first reading it in early 70's Summary: 5 Stars
This book was an inspiration to me and portrayed the sometimes harsh realties of urban fire fighting in the 1970's. Almost 20 years after reading it, I had my wife read it and she too thought highly of the book. I still have the original copy with the firefighter sitting on top of an engine by a deluge gun.
Book Review: Awesome Book Summary: 5 Stars
This is a fantastic book that you get rapped up in. When I started to read this book I could not put it down, and never could. It shows what life is like being a firefighter, you fell like your there with the firefighters. I highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys firefighter books.
Book Review: Had to read it again. Summary: 5 Stars
I read this book many years ago. Many years before I became a firefighter paramedic. I saw it advertised on the Firehouse.com webpage and had the urge to read it again from my new perspective. I wasn't disappointed. I don't read at all, and I couldn't put this book down (again).
Book Review: A great book for someone who loves fire Summary: 5 Stars
This book was unbelievable. It spoke about the hardships that firefighters faced in a run down part of NYC. A must read for anyone who wants to know traditions and the way firefighting takes place in the city. Every firefighter should read and own this book.
Book Review: Report from Engine Co. 82 Summary: 5 Stars
The quintessential firefighting novel. Dennis Smith coveys the hardships and excitment of working the South Bronx for FDNY during "the war years" of the 1970's. The first and still the best of the firefighting genre.
