Book Review: A real life saver

I bought this book despite the couple of negative comments and I am very glad that I did. The book has many delicious recipes and is clear to explain the reasons why you need to leave out particular foods. I have found that by returning to certain foods my symptoms will come back. But by staying on the diet I have found that I no longer need to use the pain meds - I used to be on the maximum dose. I did not think the diet would make so much difference, but it has. As well as reducing my symptoms I now have much more energy and my skin looks and feels great. This book even includes some delicious sweet recipes and having a sweet tooth, then this is great for me. Having this handy book, for which I am so grateful to have found and bought, has helped me hugely and I really do recommend this book.
Summary of Recipes for the Endometriosis Diet
A comprehensive diet resource for women with Endometriosis - all researched and compiled to provide a safe and healing diet to help alleviate the symptoms of endometriosis.The book includes over 250 recipes plus recommendations of what to leave out of your diet and why; tips about estrogen and your diet, and how to keep it in balance; details of substitute ingredients for dairy products and baking; snippets of nutritional advice woven among the recipes; a range of recipes from simple and easy to cook through to more exotic ideas, including some recipes for parties and catering.
This is the second edition of the book, and to date there has been lots of very positive feedback from women who have followed the recipe suggestions in this book. Some women have even managed to be totally symptom free and have been able to return to normal activities in life, as well as the added benefit of loosing weight.
The purpose of the endometriosis diet is to relieve or even prevent some of the disabling symptoms that occur with menstruation, as well as the general pain of endometriosis. The diet also aims to decrease estrogen levels, stabilize hormones, increase energy levels, reduce inflammation and alleviate painful cramps.
A very good resource to help women follow the diet for endometriosis.
