Having read some books on Photoshop color management, tweaking curves, channel blending etc, it is refreshing to see what can be done even before the picture enters Photoshop. Where most books pay token homage to this "plug in" (really a program in its own right) this book actually shows you how to optimize your photograph . It not only takes you through basics like how camera sensors are built and work, how the camera registers each pixel (linear capture) but also shows how one can practically totally edit your photo in ACR and then provide the "icing of the cake in CS3.
