This book looks at many career areas where you may not think math is used on a daily basis (Taekwon-do Instructor, Horse Stable Owner, Fireman), and proves you wrong! It's a great way to encourage kids to pay attention to what their teachers are telling them, because yes, they may use this math in their own careers one day! Many problems offer a "Problem Solving Strategy" box, helpful just when things may get a little frustrating. The problems aren't always easy, and will definitely make kids think. This is a great supplementary tool, and will encourage great classroom dialogue.
