Book Review: Skeptic turned believer

When I first bought this book I tried a couple of exercises and decided that it did not work. About a year later I picked up the book again and REALLY start to follow through with all the exercises and daily routine......All I can say is WOW!!! In just 5 days of seriously practicing the exercises along with the daily routine of keeping the vocal cords healthy, I was able to hit C6!!(FYI I didn't know what C6 was, but apparently it's the 6th C note on the piano). Not was able to sing a lot higher, the quality of my voice was a lot bettter also.
I don't have any naturaly singing talents at all and I was actually able to do this in full voice. My head was buzzin at this note. Great buy, great price, go buy it.
Book Review: Best instructional book for any singing style!

This is the best book on singing that I have ever read! The author, Jaime Vendera, gives you everything you need to improve the strength and quality of your voice. He explains the basic mechanics of the voice in an easy to understand way. Then, he provides simple, step-by-step exercises to help you reach your full singing potential, including warmup exercises, preventative maintenance, improving your ability to sing on pitch, etc. I particularly love the "pitch mapping" idea. There are also downloadable audio examples on jaime's site. If you are considering purchasing a book on singing, this is the one to get. Simply put: read this book, practice the exercises and follow the included principles, and you will improve!Book Review: Greater tone, vibrato and runs

OK, i just wanna say what i have got from this book; great tone, vibrato and runs... plus RANGE (i can vocalize in the fifth octave with power). During the time i have used this book my overall tone has improved greatly, it's a lot more "open". My vibrato and runs are 100% better. My voice has somehow learned automatically to keep the vibrato consistent on every note! I'm so grateful of that. And the runs has improved soo much after starting the simple - but still advanced - exercise(s) in this book. Sometimes it feels as if my voice has been ioled with soap or smthn, the exercise is just GREAT! This book gives you a new voice AND an amazing powerful range. He deserves credit for not overcharging aspiring singers to obtain this extremely helpful information that, among other things, will help you eliminate breaks, improve the fullness of your voice over an extended range, and most important to me, eliminate dry vocal cords. Other teachers intentionally spread this info over numerous cds for an exorbitant fee or through some other contrivance (e.g. Breathing, Tone, Upper Range; or Level I, II, III). (Although he did bifurcate this material from the breathing workout - I don't own the latter so cannot say whether my compliment should be tempered). In any event excellent job on this solid work!Book Review: The best singing book I own!

What I like about this book is that its not the same old recycled information. I thought I had read everything on vocal health but Jamie has given me a new way to care for my voice.
I usually wont buy a book if it doesn't have a 'Search Inside' option. I got this book purely because of the great reviews. I'm glad that I did.
Even though this book doesn't come with cd's, Jamie more than made up for this by giving the reader access to the Members Only section of his website. Here you will find video lessons, a forum and exercises to accompany the book. I am very happy with this buy.
