Book Reviews of Raise Your Voice

Book Review: Buy this, then practice, practice, practise :)
Summary: 5 Stars

I've been singing rock/metal for a couple of years and have been trying out a couple of self study programs. So far, Jamie's book is the best I've come across. It's got great exercises that cut to the core of the troublesome areas that singers often encounter + a ton of useful tips that you can utilize. This is the revised edition which also features additional information on screaming and other interesting things which is a nice bonus to people who want to learn something about that (ME).
This might not be the most extensive vocal method (though it still covers a lot!) or have the prettiest pictures, but if you can see through that (and you really should) then this is a gold mine. If you're dedicated to put in the time and practise to follow the guidelines in this book then this is the no bulls-t way to become a better singer. Simple as that! It certainly is helping me to become the singer I want to be!

Book Review: The BEST vocal method I've ever seen
Summary: 5 Stars

This book is simply amazing. At last I have an easy-to-follow guide to develop and to understand the voice. Jaime looks like the best teacher around for this matter, and it's clear he has true passion for the voice.

The improving after a few days following the advices, tips, examples and doing the exercises is unbelievable, and you just feel ready to sing anything, no limits.

Jaime Vendera is also known for being the first documented person to ever break glass with the voice with no amplification, so here we have a teacher who finally will make you throw away all of that old vocal methods (except Jim Gillette's one) that only make you feel tired of practice with no results. You will gain octaves, confidance, power, volume and every technical aspect that you need to sing.

I encourage you all to buy this fantastic book.

Book Review: THE book for voice
Summary: 5 Stars

Quick testimonial; I came down with chronic bronchitis two years ago, which persisted up until about a month ago. Were it not for this book, I'm almost certain I'd have given up singing entirely. But the tips in this book actually made me a far better singer than when I'd been healthy. I was able to work around the limitations of my unhealthy voice with improved mechanics. Now that I'm in good voice for the first time in years, the difference is staggering to me. This book works.

And it works for everybody. Mr. Vendura's musical tastes gravitate toward the melodic metal genre, whereas I sing more folk-rock. This has been no obstacle at all for me in improving my range, pitch control, breath support, and vocal stamina. He knows his stuff, and if you read his book, you will, too. I recommend it to every singer I meet.

Book Review: This book is Very Beneficial to any level Musician
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this book about a month and a half ago and I honestly can say that it has completely transformed the way I sing. By using Jaime's system, I learned how to breathe properly and support/sustain the pitches I am singing (which was always a problem for me). The overall quality of my voice is much richer and I can start to control the resonation within my chest, throat, and head voice. I have only been using his system for a little over a month and it has helped my voice tremendously. However, with all "How to" books, patience and practice from the reader are necessary for improvement.

Anyway, I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to increase their range, improve the quality of their tone, or become a great all-around vocalist.

Book Review: Learn how to sing right!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

This book was great! Before I got this book, I was just singing. Now I can truly say that I am singing right.

Jaime does a really good job explaining how it feels when you are singing correctly. He also has exercises you can perform that help you get that right. His exercises were also more effective than others I'd tried. He also realizes the importance of visualization so there are numerous visualization techniques that he talks you through.

This book is packed with useful and highly effective exercises that you can use to increase your power and range. It's also a very easy read. I had more breakthroughs in my singing while reading his book than at any other time. I am still making progress because of what I learned in "Raise Your Voice" and I would recommend it to anyone.
