Book Review: a frank and honest book

Although this book is 15 years old it's still important because Robin is so fascinating and truthful and funny throughout the entire book. She writes about her entire life, from her abusive childhood, to her early days on the radio to becoming a pioneering media personality within the last 20 years. I think this book is also important because Robin details her level of forgiveness and how she was able to reconcile with her father. She does not blame anyone and is never anything but 100% blunt. The book does not paint an entirely pretty picture of Howard, but it's real and it's Robin's story. The book also includes many rare and otherwise unpublished pictures of Robin, as a child, a nurse and even in the Air Force. When this book was first published many talk shows refused to have Robin on because of the controversial nature of her book (although by 2010 standards it's probably very tame). And I think one of the few interviews that she did was on the daytime show Sally Jesse. And the audience was so horrible to her, they insulted her and said so many vicious and obscene things (I recall someone calling her a "cackling B****"), but she sat there and answered every question and I think that's a true testament to her character. Robin is a strong woman with a very high work ethic. Until she writes the next chapter of her autobiography, "Quivers A Life" should be read by all of her fans.
