Book Reviews of Quicken 2008: The Missing Manual

Book Review: Review from an old age Pensioner
Summary: 5 Stars

I was looking for a good Manual to help me to use Quicken 2008, I have been over the years a keen and very satisfied Quicken fan, having used Quickbooks and Quicken in many vatieties, so after perusing the Internet for many days and having already seen and read "The Missing Manual" for Quickbooks, I was keen to try the one for Quicken 2008.
My reasoning was absolutely spot on, its a lovely book, well written, extremely well organised and easily understood, even for a 75 year old and at the Price I got it for from Amazon, could not be beaten.
The only hiccup I was subjected to, was that Amazons Despatch Department put the incorrect Post Code on when they posted it, so my Book went all the way around Australia before it eventually landed on my doorstep in Western Australia, approximately 3 weeks after they had despatched it ??? This aside Its a great Book and is an absolute nescessity if you want to use all the many attributes that Quicken offers and for the price of only 3 cups of coffee and cake, one would be a nut to be without it..

Book Review: Required Purchase For Quicken 2008 Users!!
Summary: 5 Stars

'Quicken 2008: The Missing Manual' is a must buy for all Quicken 2008 users that want to get the most out of their financial software. With over 400 pages of material, this it the EASIEST way to not only start doing the basics with Quicken, but EVERYTHING Quicken has to offer!!!

I've reviewed a dozen+ 'Missing Manual' books and I feel they are some of the best computer books EVER written. Exceptionally designed, laid out, written, they really should have been in the boxes of all the software they were written for. My reviews were all so glowing I finally started to just say BUY THE BOOK and I am not changing my stance here at all. If you use Quicken 2008 or want to become an uber-user, BUY THIS BOOK TO-DAY!!!

***** HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Book Review: GREAT PURCHASE!
Summary: 5 Stars

Despite being very proficient on Quick Books, I was stumped when it came time to navitage Quicken 2008. I was frustrated and even requested a refund at one point. Not only did this book allow me to learn and navigate through Quicken, I gained tremendous knowledge about options I had never used previously! I found myself sitting on a weekend evening reading the manual as if it were a novel! There were personal touches and very easy to understand instructions. The index was thorough and would direct me to a particular topic with ease! Love the book...love the author! Well done!

Book Review: This is a fantastic book
Summary: 5 Stars

"Quicken 2008 The Missing Manual" is an interesting, to the point, well organized and an informative book. I feel it is the only book you need to learn, understand, and use Quicken. I got "The Missing Manual a month after I received "The Official Guide" so I did read it (at least I did not waste my money)and I felt it was a frustrating read so "The Missing Manual" was a breath of fresh air. It gave me a much clearer insight into what I wanted to accomplish with Quicken and has taken much of the frustration of trying to improve areas that I thought should be more usable.

Book Review: Helpful manual
Summary: 5 Stars

I have used one form or another of Quicken since it first was published. I was forced to switch from Q2004 to Q2008 when the program quit working (sunset buried mine?) Then I learned about many bugs. So I wanted a manual that would help me negotiate through them. This book is clear, detailed, comprehensive, and moderately priced. I recommend it over the cheaper, gaudier (four-color) but "beginner's level" books available.
