Book Reviews of Practice Makes Perfect: Spanish Verb TensesBook Review: Indispensable Summary: 5 Stars
As others have said, this book simply must be part of your library if you're serious about learning Spanish. The price is incredible, the excercises are invaluable (and amusing-- no small issue when you're working hard!), and the explanations are lucid and thorough.
If I had to quibble, I'd point out that the book has a slight Latin American leaning (though I'm writing this from Spain and would still recommend it), and its exercises aren't quite cumulative enough for my taste: they tend to focus on the matter at hand, rather than review everything learned up till that point. But no matter-- you really can't go wrong with this. ¡Cómpralo!
Book Review: Incredible Summary: 5 Stars
Everything it mentioned about the condition of the book was correct. For a used book, omg, besides a few writing that did not bother at all, the book was just like new. They don't trick you because you are buying a used book. Thumbs up.
What made me more happy was that I couldn't find the book anywhere, because it was an old edition. Thank you Amazon!
I just made another purchase, a Spanish Dictionary by Larousse, another good deal. This one has no mark whatsoever. It's like a brand new book. Again thank you!
And by the way, you do not have to wait a long time before getting your item. It's very convenient.
Book Review: This is the BEST Spanish Resource Book EVER Summary: 5 Stars
Dorothy Devney Richmond has produced a wonderful exercise book to help students master the Spanish language. Her explanations and examples are clear and concise and the opportunities for practice, practice, practice are invaluable in applying the rules of grammar. Every exercise has the correct answers in the back of the book, unlike most other Spanish workbooks. I teach Spanish at our local community college and I recommend this book to all my students as an excellent resource book to be used in addition to the classroom text. I only wish Ms. Richmond would publish more! How about a 2nd Edition of Spanish Verb Tenses?
Book Review: lifesaver Summary: 5 Stars
I began working as a teacher at a school where many students and parents don't speak English. I poured over this book and its companion, Spanish Pronouns and Prepositions to review the Spanish I took in college and in high school (and hadn't had in several years). Within three months of review I took my state's Spanish Profiency Test for teachers and passed. I don't think I could have done it with out reviewing with these books. THe other review books I had were too long and drawn out. The instructions in the Practice Makes Perfect books were simple and clear and provided the ample practice problems I was looking for.
Book Review: A superior value Summary: 5 Stars
I studied Spanish for two years in college, put down my books for four years, then decided to study again on my own. Vocabulary came back to me rather quickly, but verbs have been a challenge (as they were in college as well)."Practice Makes Perfect: Spanish Verb Tenses" has been an unbelievably helpful resource in learning Spanish verb tenses. This book could almost stand alone as a textbook on Spanish verbs, and the exercises are fabulous. In spite of the few small mistakes I've noticed in this book, it is an amazing value and I highly recommend it to anyone learning this fascinating language.
