Book Reviews of Potty Time with Elmo (Liittle Sound Book)Book Review: Eh. Summary: 3 Stars
My daughter is a big Elmo fan and every few days she'll want to read this. I can't say it's made a huge difference in her training, though--the Elmo Potty DVD is much better and has definitely made a difference.
This book is OK for a few bucks, but it's not going to make or break your potty training success. And yes, the sounds are really loud. If those types of noises/toys irritate you then skip this one.
Book Review: good book, but Summary: 3 Stars
Don't rely on this book to train your toddler, but my 2-3/4 loves it. I got it when he was two to get him ready for "the potty". He was more interested in the buttons than the story. Still is. Also, as with the majority of these types of books, the sounds are LOUD. I put tape over the speaker and the sounds are still loud to me. Plus it is long, so if your toddler is not into long stories, this is not for them.
Book Review: depends what you are looking for Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this book because I wanted my baby to see it as an example. Unfortunately there is no a single picture where Elmo or his toy are actually on the potty :(. But on the other hand this book keeps my baby entertained for at least few minutes and makes him sit on the potty, because at other times he just jumps out of potty in two seconds.
Book Review: Nice but keeps talking so something must be wrong Summary: 3 Stars
We put all the potty books in a drawer. This books keeps talking so it either needs a new battery or something is wrong with Elmo's button.
Book Review: It's a book that your child will enjoy, but didn't help my child whatsoever as far as potty training. Summary: 2 Stars
Nice book, but I wish it came with a potty training chart. My daughter kind of liked the book at first, but it doesn't go into detail at all as far as potty training. Maybe that's where the parents should step in and explain, but then why even get the book? Just get a potty chart, explain and show your child how to pee pee in the potty and once it's filled with stars and they are potty trained, let them pick out a present at the store. I'm sure they won't pick out this book:). The Elmo DVD learning how to pee pee on the potty was a better idea and did get her excited about starting the process. My daughter is old enough to know the sensation of when she needs to go potty and she usually goes on her own now. It's a power struggle with toddlers. Give them something to drink and make them pee pee in the potty 15min later and do this every time they drink something. Don't ask them to go pee pee, tell them every 30-45 min that we're going to try going pee pee. After a week, your child should know the sensation you're talking about when they have to go pee pee. There will be accidents for about a week and Pull-ups don't work, just use panties or underwear and after a week, of doing all the hard work and training, they won't have any more accidents, because they will get sick of peeing on themselves. Don't forget the rewards chart.
