Book Review: This was a very nice book.
Summary: 5 Stars
This book is called Poppy. The author of this book is Avi. This book is about a deer mouse named Poppy. Poppy and her boy friend Ragweed go up to Bannock hill. Poppy being smart was in a piece of broken bard Ragweed was in the open. Then Mr.Ocax the owl ate Ragweed. The next day Poppy remembers what happened. She decides to leave in the light of the afternoon. Poppy decides to go then because she tough Mr.Ocax was a sleep. But he was not. He was out hunting for Poppy. Poppy is out in the felled and Mr.Ocax swooped by and went to eat her. But Poppy saw him and ran. Mr.Ocax chased her four a long time. Finally Poppy got away. When she got home she herd her father say there is not enough food four the family. After that meeting she told her Mom and Dad what happened. Poppy's Dad said that she should come and ask Mr.Ocax four permission to move to New House. When they get there Mr.Ocax says the only way they will get their is if Poppy gives her self up to him. Poppy did not do that. Now her family might starve to death. Poppy decides to go to New House. On her way she falls into a river called Glitter Creak. (Well it is a river to a mouse). well Poppy is in the creak she is struggling not to drowned finally she gets back on land. Poppy finds she is near Mr.Ocax's nest! Poppy runs as fare away as possible. Than all the sudden she is chased by a fox. Poppy runs into a log. She did not know that a grumpy porcupine lived there. Ereth the porcupine chased the fox away. Ereth decided he will help Poppy if she gets him some salt. The salt is a salt block four deer to eat. When Poppy gets there she learns that Mr.Ocax is a afraid of a fake owl at New House. The next day Poppy and Mr.Ocax battle. Before they battle Poppy finds one of Ereth's quills. Now it is time to battle. After a hole bunch of confusion Poppy stabs Mr.Ocax in the talons (claw). After she calls him names. Poppy tried to pull the quill out but the barb is stuck in the talon. Afraid she might loose the quill she held on to it tight. All of the sudden Mr.Ocax lifts into the air. He is fling upside-down and all around. Poppy is telling her self to let go but she is to afraid to. Just then Poppy sees Mr.Ocax headed four the salt Block. Poppy lets go just in time. She sees salt all over. Mr.Ocax has hit the salt head on. Poppy goes to see if he is still alive but he is not. Then Poppy goes to tell Ereth the salt is ready. Then Poppy goes to tell her family. All the mice move to New House. I enjoyed this book a lot because it is a nice book. that keeps you interested in what will happen next. My favorite part is when the mice can move to New House because Mr.Ocax would not let them move to New House. The reason is partly Poppy and Ragweed going to Bannock Hill. The other was the fake owl Mr. Ocax thought was real. I would give this book 5 stars. My reason is because it is an adventurous book. I would recommend this book to someone who likes mice. This is a nice book. This book is a good book for people.

At the very edge of Dimwood Forest stood an old charred oak where, silhouetted by the moon, a great horned owl sat waiting. The owls name was Mr. Ocax, and he looked like death himself. With his piercing gaze, he surveyed the lands he called his own, watching for the creatures he considered his subjects. Not one of them ever dared to cross his path. . .until the terrible night when two little mice went dancing in the moonlight. . .
