Book Reviews of Plum Lovin' (A Between-the-Numbers Novel)

Book Review: not total trash
Summary: 2 Stars

ok so I got this book as a freebie and I love the Stephanie Plum series. The thing is: this takes familiar characters out of the realm of reality and gives them a whimsical twist. Not together unpleasant, but not the Sephanie Plum series I adore. The familiarity gives it something to bond to, but I was afraid it would detract from the series when I went back to it. It didn't and for this reason alone I am saying it was a good little read. Fortunately it is brief and easy to read. The between series is 'cute', but I still think overall it detracts from the main series. That being said I also bought the next one before I started the between series. I do not completely regret them, however I would not go out of my way to buy them either after having read them. The Series is another story..those are well worth the laughs.

Book Review: LIGHT ENTERTAINMENT -- AND I DO MEAN LIGHT!
Summary: 2 Stars

One of my girlfriends has been trying to get me to read Evanovich for years. I have resisted as I am in to more hard core thrillers and mysteries, these books sounded a bit too much like chit lit. Well, on recent girls weekend I picked up her copy of this book and gave it a go. I was truly surprised at how little this book had to offer? and at under 200 pages it hardly seemed worth the cover price? In my friends defense she said this was not a typical "Plum" book and she said it was the wrong place to start--as a fan she was distressed by the short length and shallow storyline. I have been told I have to try "One for the Money" before I give up on Evonovich? We'll see.

Book Review: Plum Bad
Summary: 1 Stars

I purchased this book because I love the numbered series but this was beyond bad. Like some other posters, I felt exploited, ripped off (and mind you, I purchased this book on sale for $1.97 and STILL felt ripped off!!!).

Come on Janet, we deserve better than this. YOU deserve better than this. Don't fall for the "I gotta make all the money I can out of this series while I can make it" routine. As for me, I've been burned so seriously that I will NOT purchase #15, I'll get it from the library, if I bother to read it at all.

Book Review: What a disappointment!!
Summary: 1 Stars

I have enjoyed Evanovich's "Plum" series - light, humorous, entertaining characters, and an easy escape from the real world. This effort, however, is a major disappointment. She couldn't have spent more than a week writing it, and it shows. Had I not been on an international flight with nothing else to read I would have put it down from almost the beginning. In fact, if I had the choice I would have rated it as a zero star effort. Save your money and your time - read something else !

Book Review: Did Evanovich really write this?
Summary: 1 Stars

The names are the same, but I don't recognize the characters. The writing of this "between the numbers" book is very different from the numbered books. The writing is immature. The characters are flat. The story is stupid. It lacks the flow and humor of the numbered books. Strike two.
