Book Reviews of Pit Fighters: Baptism by FireBook Review: Get's you in a full mount and drops wonderful elbows straight into your brain! Summary: 5 Stars
The worst part about Pit Fighter was going back and forth on my favorite fighter. By the end I loved them all five equally. I actually feel a fighters respect for these fictional characters. Bowie Ibarra has a mastery of describing action sequences with a fluidity that would make most authors cream in their jeans. The way you see the fighting through his words is almost on the verge of impossible. I was getting adrenaline rushes just sitting in my reading chair in total silence the same way I do at the loud bar watching UFC. Keep in mind this is set in the time of no hold barred cage fighting with virtually no rules so it's f**king brutal. If you have any knowledge of MMA or just love his other perfect zombie fiction and wanna try something new then this is the best way you can possibly go. Also vice versa, check out the Down the Road series if you love MMA, the violence goes hand in hand. Enjoy!
Summary of Pit Fighters: Baptism by FireFive different nations. Five different styles. One goal. A young Kung-Fu master following his spiritual path. A pugilist from Scotland trying to resurrect a failed boxing career. A Russian Sambo expert looking for a new lease on life in America. A Mexican luchador attempting to cross over into mixed martial arts. A street thug searching for a new lease on life off the streets. Drifting from across the globe to the small south Texas town of San Uvalde, the fighters assemble under the banner of a risk-taking entrepreneur. Combining their diverse backgrounds and unique skills, the men become a team united in one goal: glory in the new sport of mixed martial arts. But will their unity and skills be enough to overcome their individual shortcomings, demons, and doubts when they are locked in a cage and tested by some of the deadliest fighters in the world? There will be only one supreme champion, and it will take more than skill, guts, and determination to succeed among a reborn breed of warriors: Pit Fighters.
