Book Reviews of Photoshop Elements 7: The Missing Manual (Missing Manuals)Book Review: Manual in color may not be the best way to go! Summary: 4 Stars
Just received this book yesterday, it appears to be a well written and thought out manual; however, the quality of the color photos are a clear distraction to the manual. For the price of the book, a higher quality printer should have been used. Normally "missing manuals" rate 5 stars but this one rates '3 maybe 4' at best because of the color picture quality.
Update 12/18/08: Viewed a copy of "Photoshop Elements 4: The Missing Manual" today-- quality of publication-- paper used and clarityof photos much better. Which would lead me to definitely lower rating for '7' missing manual to 3.
Book Review: Much better than the official manual Summary: 4 Stars
This is a clearly written and practical introduction to Photoshop Elements. It rewards both browsing and reading front to back for the various tidbits you can pick up. The on-line manual that comes with Photoshop Elements 7 is hard to navigate and does a poor job of explaining how to do things, so a supplementary book such as this is essential, and this one does a very good job.
Book Review: Photoshop Elements 7 The Missing Manual Summary: 4 Stars
A really comprehensive manual that answers most questions. The instructions are precise and easy to follow. There is one surprising omission or I can't find it. After using the magnetic lasso, how do you isolate the object from its former background for future use? That aside, the manual is excellent value.
Book Review: Good reference Summary: 4 Stars
I needed this book to get started using Photoshop Elements 7. I will continue to use it in the future as I work to improve my photos. It offers a wealth of info. that is fairly easily understood by even a beginner who has never used Photoshop Elements.
Book Review: The best i've read Summary: 4 Stars
II have bought a number of tutorial books on "Photoshop Elements 7", but I find "The Missing Manual" the best and easiest to follow, my age 79.
