Book Reviews of Photoshop Elements 4 One-On-OneBook Review: His 12 lessons are based on real-world projects and provide step-by-step instructions Summary: 5 Stars
Deke McClelland and Galen Fott's Photoshop Elements 4 One-On-One is the next best thing to personal lessons with author expert Deke McClelland, an expert on digital imaging. His 12 lessons are based on real-world projects and provide step-by-step instructions which helps organize photos, crop and size them, adjust them to correct common problems, and even email them and create online galleries. An accompanying video offers 2 hours of training, but the meat here is a handbook packed with color photos, color sidebar 'pearls of wisdom', and clear lesson explanations.
Book Review: If you're a beginner wanting to become an expert! Summary: 5 Stars
I'm new to Photoshop Elements. Photoshop Elements 4 is my first so I have no background with version 3. Photoshop Elements One-on-One is an outstanding introduction and how-to manual to Elements 4. It starts off with basics and builds on them to some fantastic things that can be done with your photographs. It covers the things like correcting poor shots to being creative. You really shouldn't need another book to learn how to work with Photoshop Elements 4.
Book Review: Photoshop Elements One-on-One Unlocks Elements Summary: 5 Stars
I am only a third of the way through this book, but already I have learned a lot about how to use Elements 4. I have used the program for several months and previously used Elements 2 and Elements 3 and didn't realize how little I understood about getting the most from its features. The workbook format, video and lesson files to download are very useful for learning by doing, a far better way to learn than by simply reading. Highly recommended.
Book Review: Very good training tool Summary: 5 Stars
I thought overall the book/DVD did a good job of explaining things. I noticed a few places where the written instructions (keystrokes) did not produce the same results as the author indicates. Also 1-2 typos..."select a brush size of 400 pixels" where it should probably have been 40 pixels. Two of the DVD lessons (resizing images and layers) were covered extremely fast and were hard to follow. Overall impression: VERY GOOD
Book Review: Photoshop Elements 4 One on One Summary: 5 Stars
The book and accompanying DVD are being used in a class I am taking on Photoshop Elements 4. Both of them make it much easier to understand what 4 is capable of and how to use the program, especially the tools. Without instruction, complimented by 1 on 1, I would not be able to use even a small percentage of the power of 4. 1 on 1 goes step by step in 12 chapters of "how to" fix, enhance, organize, and share photos.
