Book Review: I hate this book...HARDLY!! =D [ SLIGHT SPOILERS ]
Summary: 5 Stars
I hate this book! Not really, only because it is now yet another series I have to add to my "To Be Read" pile! =D And given the details in the book on the bad guys and the history of the "Dark Hunters" from Kenyon, probably a very *long* series. I haven't even finished all the DH books yet! *sigh*
But seriously, this is a solid 5* excellent start to a new series! Think of an elite group of agents, kind of like 007.
Reading some of the low reviews was actually funny to me. "Over the top cartoonish?" Wake up and look around the world you're in today. This was *very* realistic! In fact, has already happened! Hello?
And while another comment was that it had very little to do with B.A.D. the only reason I might consider it 'little' was because it was just enough details to whet your appetite - and what I would expect - in the very first book! I think you'll see that open up more and fairly quickly.
After all the bad guys are a *huge* organization already! Think of the Mafia. They're in no way, small! And even today, it's a very long slow - mostly unsuccessful process to make headway with anything remotely connected to them. So why would someone expect *everything* in one book?
If I had to give one complaint, it was that "Terry" didn't show much spunk at all or action given the situation she was in and given the supposed level of training she had. She definitely didn't carry her weight!
Aside from that, I thoroughly enjoyed it and am out tomorrow to pick up book 2 "Whispered Lies." And I sure hope "Stoner" has his own story! =)
