Book Review: My Old-Schoolness Affects My Review

I'm dating myself in saying this. Decades ago, my proudest possession was a copy of "When Cameras Go Crazy" about Culture Club. It had photos of all the band members as children. It had drawings from fans. It even showed the photo of Jon and George kissing, the one VH-1 always broadcasts, that serves as proof of their romantic relationship. So when I heard that the Pet Shop Boys would release a book with more than 1,000 photos, I thought it would be like "When Cameras Go Crazy."
Wrong! The title is accurate: its photos and discussions of their singles and albums. The thing is: if you are a hardcore PSB fan, you'll own these items anyway. I know what the cover of "Behavior" looks like because it's the first tape/CD of theirs that I bought. In the mid-1990s, Neil took a photo of himself with his shirt partially open; it's not here. Supposedly, he was dating a brother and Chris a Latino dude, but there are no photos of these couples here. It doesn't have photos of them as babies or young boys. I heard Neil has siblings, but there's no family photos here. Chris plays/played trombone; there are no teen photos of him here playing brass.
I can't say the book is deceptive; again, I should have learned from the title. Still, I would have done this book much differently if I were going to make a PSB coffee table book.
