Book Reviews of the Persepolis Boxed SetCustomer Review: one of the most interesting stories I've read in a long time Summary: 4 Stars
Persepolis is a great story about a liberal Iranian family and their attempts to educate their daughter. My only issue with it, is that it fails to tackle the other side of the arguement. Satrapi never depecits or even tries to understand the conservative moral forces that she is attempting to escape. While it's an interesting story, it further enforces the voice of the West in the middle east's narrative instead of providing a valuable balance of opinion. But ya know that's a minor imperfection in what is an a fascinating auto-biography told in charming and humorous episodues.
