Book Review: Cute story, BEAUTIFUL pictures!!!!

I absolutely love how beautiful it is and the story is cute as well.
The size of the book itself is perfect. We're just starting our own little board book library at home and I like how this one has more than just a couple words per page - most of ours only have 1-2 words or a short rhyme which is great, but it's nice to have something a little different.
The colors and beautiful illustrations are what drove me to buy the book while shopping around in our local zoo gift shop - it's honestly a stunning book. Haven't read it to my 6 month old daughter yet, but can't wait!! She will love the sparkly and crinkly colored portions of it for sure!
As for the review about it being a poor message about outer beauty, I didn't take it that way when I read it. I took it as growing up - many kids feel plain/unsure of themselves when they are young and once they go through their own metamorphosis, they feel better about themselves. I will also say this: You can't tell me you've never said, "Eew, that is one ugly/gross caterpillar!", even when you know it will turn into a beautiful butterfly!! So it's a science lesson as well - plain caterpillars turn into beloved butterflies and it's a real fact.
I LOVE the book! Interested in the 2nd book involving Percival. (Plus, I think his name is so cute!) I can't wait til she asks for me to read it by name one day!
