Book Reviews of Peek-A Who?Book Review: Easy to turn pages for little babes Summary: 5 Stars
Love this book. Bought it because of the reviews for my then 6 month old. He didn't seem to care for it. From around 10 months this is THE book he pulls from the pile (he's nearly a year). With the peek-a-book cut out he is able to easily turn the pages himself, making the story reading so much more exciting for him. We make noises for each of the hidden things (owl, cow, ghost, zoo, train) and then give kisses into the mirror. Although he can only say a few words "goh" (ghost) is one of them!
Book Review: the owl is just the start Summary: 5 Stars
A very charming book; fun artwork to go along with the guessing game on each page. My 9-month-old is just starting to stick his hand through the cut-out areas and, although he isn't guessing what the word on each page will be, he does laugh at each successive "peek-a-who/moo/boo/zoo/choo-choo/you." Making the appropriate sounds to match each word also gets him laughing. And yes, the mirror is a favorite--a great concept at the end of the book. This is a well-designed first book for a baby.
Book Review: short, simple, brilliant! Summary: 5 Stars
While it's true there isn't much "meat" to this book, BABIES LOVE IT. The pages are simple with BEAUTIFUL, bright pictures and rhymes that babies will be chanting along with their reader. The surprise ending with built in mirror is SURE TO PLEASE your little one. By little one, I'm thinking this book is best suited for 6-18 mo. I can see this is going to be one of our favorites for the next few years. I also recommend "Fuzzy Bee and Friends", a cloth book that really engages young babies.
Book Review: Peek-a-Wow! Summary: 5 Stars
This is my daughter's (11 months old) all-time favorite book! Since she was about 7-8 months she has been borderline obsessed with this book. Whenever she sees it, she picks it up and gives it to us to read to her, she turns the pages, and she laughs every time. When she gets to the mirror at the end, she goes in super close and gives herself a kiss. It is so simple, it's hard to believe it would be such a hit, but believe me, it is! A must-have to get little ones interested in reading!
Book Review: What a HIT! Summary: 5 Stars
When I bought this book for my twins, I never thought it would be such a big hit. IT IS A HUGE HIT. The girls fight over this book and pick this book out of their pretty large library every morning for mommy to read to them. They always crack up at the peekazoo page and love the mirror at the end. This is a wonderful book. I also bought the "Ready Set Go!" book by Nina Laden, which is an equally big hit with my children. The flower at the end is what they find fascinating!
