Book Reviews of Peek-A Who?

Book Review: An instant favorite!
Summary: 5 Stars

I got this book as a gift for my daughter who was 8 months old at the time. From the first time we read it she was hooked! For the last month, we have read this book daily at least 15 times! She loves turning the pages and the rhyming really keeps her attention! The awesome thing is the she knows to turn the page after the rhyming word! So we dont have random page flipping! She loves the mirror at the end and looks into the peek a boo window so she can see her eyes then when we reveal the full mirror she gives herself a kiss! I love this book because my daughter can't get enough of it! I feel sorry for the rest of my book collection but I figure they will get their due attention in time.

Book Review: Peek-a-zoo!
Summary: 5 Stars

It is difficult to find excellent books for very young children. Peek-a-WHO is a surprising exception! It contains elements that my daughter loves and that I think have helped support her early literacy: It's got nice board pages. It's small for the hands, has few words, and it contains a surprise ending, It's got the notion of guessing by "peeking" through the hole in the middle to guess what's on the other side. It's got big words that a baby can scan. And it's got a repetitive pattern that I think would help kids start to understand parts of sentences by differentiating the same phrase from the different parts. Peek-a-zoo says it all! A valuable addition to a baby's early library.

Book Review: Still a favorite 8 years later...
Summary: 5 Stars

My daughter got the book before her first birthday (she is almost 9). It was her favorite then...All you had to say was "Peek a WHo?" and she'd go crawling across the house looking for it, and wouldn't return until she found it, and then you had to read it. My second daughter, now age 1, loves it just as much. Yes, it is simple, and there aren't a lot of words, but it engages them and they love to turn the pages. And in response to the post complaining about the presence of a ghost...that is my daughter's favorite page...she turns to it and says "O"...she doesn't see a ghost, she see's cheerios for eyes. It was a winner when my oldest was little, and my youngest loves it too!!!

Book Review: guessing game board book!
Summary: 5 Stars

This small and simple board book is sure to fascinate even the youngest babies.

Besides the vibrant colors with black outlines, every other page has a die-cut hole with a visual clue of stripes, spots, and pattern of colors. Turn the page and "Peek a MOO!" reveals a black-and-white cow; "Peek a BOO!" a green ghost; "Peek a ZOO!" a crowd of animals; and the last one, "Peek a YOU," has a mirror insert.

This guessing game board book is a highly interactive read with easy to memorize rhymes.

Book Review: Peek-A- What???
Summary: 5 Stars

We recieved this book as a gift, and I was really skeptical that it would be any good. I'm pretty selective about what I read to my son but this is the first book that ever really held my son's attention. In fact the first time I read it to him at 9 months he was roll over hysterical with the kind of laughter we got from physically tickling him.

No it doesn't have a fancy plot or any real life lessons but the simple rhymes and busy colors make my son laugh. If he finds the book on the floor he will try to flip through the pages himself, he always takes a moment to study the mirrored page at the end. This simple book is definately a favorite.
