I was a teacher and have been painting for only a few years now and wanted to try my hand at drawing. This book is very well written and very well laid out....the explanations are simple and to the point. I was surprised to find this helped me in color (lesson 4) and drawing perspective (lesson 8) more than many of the other art instructional books I have read. I've never had anyone explain perspective as well as Jackie Simmonds. I almost didn't purchase this because of the copyright; thinking materials would be outdated, but colors are colors no matter what brand, and I really felt like it was worth the money just for the information on color and drawing perspective alone. I will be keeping this book on on the shelf.
