Being a visual type of person when I received my copy of Painters 11 for
Photographers I went for the graphics, then the CD. It wasn't long before
disappointment set in. In the Addison file, the licensing agreement was not loading
properly and in Assets the second video would not open. I checked on the internet
and saw that there was a problem with swf. Files, that was at 1 in the morning,
by 4 I was interneted out. The next day I called the publisher, Fosal Press. There
was no one to help me but they took my phone #. I also e-mailed the Author,
Martin Addison. By this time I was slipping into new book withdrawals
because it was becoming very old very fast. I went back to the net for some
hopeful encouragement but to no avail. Then I saw my e-mail flag go up, it was
Martin. I opened the mail and he blew me away with his personalized assistance.
After that I knew I had a winner, it would just take time. We were still not there yet
so I went back to the net. Saw a lot of bad stuff out there about running swf. Files,
then the phone rang. It was the Publisher, Focal Press and in less than one minute
he nailed it, to low on the resolution. What a team, they got my attention. I know
who the Author and Publisher I will be looking for the next time I buy a book.
They are # 1 with me and I give them a 10 on a 1 to 5 scale.
