Book Reviews of PS, I Love You

Book Review: Cecelia Ahern Rules
Summary: 5 Stars

This Irish lass is so incredibly talented. I love this book, absolutely and positively...guess that's why they made a movie from it.

Book Review: Nice story
Summary: 5 Stars

I like this author and plan on reading every book that she writes. I like the storylines and how they are written.

Book Review: A good quick read
Summary: 4 Stars

This book came recommended from a friend to read, since I am into Picoult books. I did not know that there was a movie based on the book, and from what I have heard about it I dont want to see the movie, for fear that it will ruin the compassion that I have for the characters. The book was rather easy to read and the story held my interest. I was however disappointed in the ending. I dont want to spoil it, but it wasn't the way that I had expected from the build up of the characters. I would read Cecelia Ahern's other books based on this one. It was captive and moving. I was more interested in the fact that the author was very young when she wrote this and captured the situation and subject matter better than any person at that age can. I would recommend anyone to read this book, it is heartwarming and moving.

Book Review: Surprisingly Endearing
Summary: 4 Stars

I will admit I am usually a total cynic and hate romantic novels. I usually find them trite and uninspired, but with this novel I fell in love with it. The premis of the novel is sweet. A young married couple is faced with the fact that they are having to say good-bye to each other as the husband is dying. Holly, the wife and main character, is totally distraught until she finds out that her hisband has left her a letters with a series of tasks she has to complete. As she completes the tasks Holly goes through a healing transformation. Certainly not the best book in the world and far from being deep and thought provoking, the novel is still quite moving and I found myself rooting for Holly and she went through her various adventures.

Book Review: I'm Satisfied
Summary: 4 Stars

This was pretty good chic lit. I thought the author did a really good job telling this story. Holly is a young widow, trying to get over the loss of her husband. About five months after he dies, Holly receives a package of letters written by Gerry before his death. She is to open one each month until the end of the year. The letters help her slowly get on with her life and yet keep a small part of Gerry alive. I liked the idea of this story. The main characters are very well developed. I wish I had a family like Holly's. The ending is definitely a surpise. I did not expect it. If definitely is not a Hollywood ending. I wonder if the movie is?
