Book Reviews of PS, I Love YouBook Review: A Wonderful Read! Summary: 5 Stars
This book was hilarious! I could read it again and again! Holly's friends make you laugh and cry and ultimately helps Holly live through the next 10 months. She is able to pick up the pieces and still live with a contentment that Gerry would have wanted her to have. She finds out that her family means everything to her, and along the way she finds out who her true friends really are as well. If anyone has suffered from losing someone this book makes you find the good in what is yet to come. It is not over and Cecelia Ahern shows exactly how this is true by creating this novel. She is a wonderful author, and I would recommend this book to anyone!
Book Review: Right Back At Ya! Summary: 5 Stars
This was a very good story detailing the year after Holly's young husband passed away from a brain tumor. He keeps his promise and leaves her notes to open each month to help her reach one goal at a time until she makes it through an entire year. Written with great sensitivity and often raucus humor, and wit, Cecelia Ahern does a marvelous job of letting us in the world Holly finds at first to be meaningless. Introduces us to her family and friends who mourn with her to their individual ability and then moves the story along to healing and forward thinking with hope and love.
Book Review: I loved this book. Summary: 5 Stars
I just finished watching the movie and it reminded me of how much I loved this story. While the movie was good on it's own, when compared to the book, the movie is lacking. I thought the story was well written and I loved all the hysterical situations Holly and her friends got into. The entire story is relatable no matter how old you are, single/married, male/female. I laughed, cried and on many occasions did both at the same time. This was a great debut for Cecelia Ahern.
Book Review: Beautiful and Heartbreaking Summary: 5 Stars
Do not be scared away by the cover of this one. Despite classifying it as 'chick-lit', it's definitely not your usual chick-lit, as there's a lot more depth to it than one would usually expect from chick-lit. It's beautiful and devastating. I'd recommend it to everybody, but make sure you have tissues nearby, because even though the book is generally optimistic, there are scenes that will break your heart.
Book Review: ABSOLUTE MUST READ! Summary: 5 Stars
This is absolutely the best book I have ever read! No joke! And that says alot since I'm an avid reader. You laugh, you cry, and are surprised at the ending. You just don't want this story to end. You feel like you personally know all the characters and my heart is still tugging thinking about them! I have to send copies to all my friends. It's that good!
